SAFETY
General Tips
Kenya is not a safe country by European standards, but you can make it much safer by being smart. Here’s a few things that you should keep in mind:
- Avoid walking at night, just take an Uber.
- Refrain from displaying valuable items publicly; itโs best to leave expensive jewelry at home.
- Stick to areas that you know or just ask me ๐
Msambweni is much more relaxed, but please stick to the same rules just to be safe.
Vaccinations and Malaria
Here’s the list of vaccinations recommended by the German foreign office. While Nairobi is generally safe from malaria due to its altitude, Msambweni and the coastal areas are considered risk zones. All beds in Msambweni have mosquito nets. For detailed information on malaria prevention, you can refer to this (German) guide by the RKI.
